About the event
As you’ve seen in FHNA emails and social media posts, Kirkland will finalize its Comprehensive Plan Update by the end of the year. A controversial proposal is to include policies in the update to study higher residential densities within ¼ mile on either side of Kirkland’s transit corridors. Some citizens support this idea as a way to build more affordable housing in Kirkland. Others are concerned that it will decimate established neighborhoods adjacent to the designated corridors. To help you understand this issue as well as other aspects of the Comprehensive Plan Update, FHNA is hosting a community meeting with Kirkland’s Planning Department staff. Please join us and get your questions answered. You may submit questions ahead of time to: board@finnhill.org. We will pass these along to the city staff.
