Juanita Woodlands Stewardship

Join our fun stewardship work parties as a way to make new friends, gain connections in the neighborhood, spend time in the forest, and help our local ecosystem! We would love your company and your help removing so much invasive ivy in a corner of a park with an otherwise thriving forest.
Juanita Woodlands is a special park to FHNA; the way the community on Finn Hill came together to save the land from development is legendary. FHNA raised over $500,000 from neighbors to help fund the purchase of the 40-acre forest so the county could make it parkland instead of selling it to developers. This event was part of the impetus of Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance, an alliance of neighbors with a mission to protect our natural environment on Finn Hill, and to foster community.
In 2026 FHNA is celebrating its 30 year anniversary, and revisiting its roots. We're supporting the health of the Juanita Woodlands forest, where FHNA volunteers once planted many trees, to remove the invasive ivy and blackberry that have taken over the southwest corner of the park. Later we'll transplant and plant some native plants to restore the health of the forest. We hope you'll be a part of it.
