Redistricting plans underway in King County
The King County Districting Committee has begun public hearings on four alternate County Council redistricting plans. The plans are online at www.kingcounty.gov/districting . One of those plans has a current portion of the Finn Hill area being moved over to District 1 northward. The other three retain the existing alignment for Finn Hill within District 6. Annexation
Status – Spring 2011 Washington State’s Growth Management Act mandates Kirkland to annex Finn Hill (including Holmes Point), northern Juanita and Kingsgate before 2012. This could very well occur sometime in the next few years. It would increase Kirkland’s population by 44,860 (77%), from 34,300 to 79,160. The Finn Hill population is 12,600.
